【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodestablishestheprinciplesforthedesignofahotboxapparatusandtheminimumrequirementsforthedeterminationofthesteadystatethermalperformanceofbuildingassemblieswhenexposedtocontrolledlaboratoryconditions.ThismethodisalsousedtomeasurethethermalperformanceofabuildingmaterialatstandardizedtestconditionssuchasthoserequiredinmaterialSpecificationsC739,C764,C1224andPracticeC1373.1.2Thistestmethodisusedforlargehomogeneousornon-homogeneousspecimens.Thistestmethodappliestobuildingstructuresorcompositeassembliesofbuildingmaterialsforwhichitispossibletobuildarepresentativespecimenthatfitsthetestapparatus.Thedimensionsofspecimenprojectionsorrecessesarecontrolledbythedesignofthehotboxapparatus.Somehotboxesarelimitedtoplanarornearlyplanarspecimens.However,largerhotboxeshavebeenusedtocharacterizeprojectingskylightsandatticsections.See3.2foradefinitionofthetestspecimenandothertermsspecifictothismethod.Note18212;ThistestmethodreplacesTestMethodsC236,theGuardedHotBox,andC976,theCalibratedHotBoxwhichhavebeenwithdrawn.TestapparatusdesignedandoperatedpreviouslyunderTestMethodsC236andC976willrequireslightmodificationstothecalibrationandoperationalprocedurestomeettherequirementsofTestMethodC1363.178;1.3AproperlydesignedandoperatedhotboxapparatusisdirectlyanalogoustotheTestMethodC177guardedhotplatefortestinglargespecimensexposedtoairinducedtemperaturedifferences.Theoperationofahotboxapparatusrequiresasignificantnumberoffundamentalmeasurementsoftemperatures,areasandpower.Theequipmentperformingthesemeasurementsrequirescalibrationtoensurethatthedataareaccurate.Duringinitialsetupandperiodicverificationtesting,eachmeasurementsystemandsensoriscalibratedagainstastandardtraceabletoanationalstandardslaboratory.Ifthehotboxapparatushasbeendesigned,constructedandoperatedintheidealmanner,nofurthercalibrationoradjustmentwouldbenecessary.Assuch,thehotboxisconsideredaprimarymethodandtheuncertaintyoftheresultisanalyzedbydirectevaluationofthecomponentmeasurementuncertaintiesoftheinstrumentationusedinmakingthemeasurements.1.3.1Inanidealhotboxtestofahomogenousmaterialthereisnotemperaturedifferenceoneitherthewarmorcoldspecimenfacestodriveaflankingheatflow.Inaddition,therewouldbenotemperaturedifferencesthatwoulddriveheatacrosstheboundaryofthemeteringchamberwalls.However,experiencehasdemonstratedthatmaintainingaperfectguard/meteringchamberbalanceisnotpossibleandsmallcorrectionsareneededtoaccuratelycharacterizealltheheatflowpathsfromthemeteringchamber.Togainthisfinalconfidenceinthetestresult,itisnecessarytobenchmarktheoverallresultofthehotboxapparatusbyperformingmeasurementsonspecimenshavingknownheattransfervaluesandcomparingthoseresultstotheexpectedvalues.1.3.2Thebenchmarkingspecimensarehomogeneouspanelswhosethermalpropertiesareuniformandpredictable.Thesepanels,orrepresentativesectionsofthepanels,havehadtheirthermalperformancemeasuredonotherdevicesthataredirectlytraceableorhavebeenfavorablycomparedtoanationalstandardslaboratory.Forexample,aTestMethodC177HotPlate,aTestMethodC518HeatMeteroranotherTestMethodC1363HotBoxwillprovideadequatespecimens.NotethattheuseofTestMethodC518orsimilarapparatuscreatesadditionaluncertaintysincethosedevicesarecalibratedusingtransferstandardsorstandardreferencematerials.Byperformingthisbenchmarkingprocess,thehotboxoperatorisabletodeveloptheadditionalequationsthatpredictthemagnitudeofthecorre......
