Scope: This ARP defines a means of determining the validity of computer models of aircraft seating systems used to simulate dynamic impact conditions. It provides specifications and performance criteria for aviation specific numerical occupant models. It defines the minimum set of test parameters and data needed to evaluate the degree of correlation between the model and the physical test, and provides procedures for quantitative comparison of test and modeling results. It provides validation methods and criteria applicable to lumped mass and detailed seat models.This ARP also provides current best modeling practices that have been found to improve the efficiency and validity of computer models of aircraft seat systems.
